Matthew K. Schieffer is a skilled and seasoned trial attorney with a wide range of experience. He practices in several areas, including police union representation, public sector labor, criminal defense, municipal defense, and personal injury.

Mr. Schieffer began his career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he maintained a felony case load. His experience as a prosecutor has given him a unique and well-rounded perspective as a criminal defense attorney. After his tenure as a prosecutor, Mr. Schieffer worked in the private sector defending national insurance carriers in personal injury matters, and became well-versed in civil litigation and case management.

At The Quinn Law Firm, Mr. Schieffer routinely represents private clients in criminal, civil and administrative cases in state and federal courts. Mr. Schieffer has also successfully defended countless members of law enforcement across New York State who faced disciplinary charges, internal investigations, and criminal  charges. Additionally, Mr. Schieffer represents labor organizations in contract negotiations and labor disputes. Mr. Schieffer’s extensive experience and strong advocacy skills enable him to achieve ideal results for his diverse range of clients.

Mr. Schieffer is a graduate of Northeastern University and the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
